To those of you that use energy weapons and are familiar with EVE Online I think you'll agree with the following. Ever since the laser rifle came out I've been focused on using energy weapons, but to be fair I've also skilled it every other weapon so I could better understand them all. The thing that bothers me as I'm sure it does for a lot of you is the way they over heat and do damage to the user. There are a few other weapons that over heat but they don't do any damage to the user. That leaves the energy weapon user focused on a few things
>ammo >heat build up >the target
If you over heat you take damage, cant change weapons, and can't reload. If there is going to be a over heat system in game it needs to apply the same for all the weapons that use it. Or if over heating is going to damage the user then we should follow the lore of EVE.
(this is where I drop the bomb)
Amarr weapons should not use ammo, and heat build up is the only thing you need focus on. In EVE Amarr weapons are very cap heavy, but they do not use ammo like the other empires do.
I've seen some other posts where people feel that having your Scrambler Rifle charged should cause heat build up every second its charged, with this new system I see nothing wrong with that.
Don't even get me started on the Laser Rifle, honestly it's terrible right now. Just slap a scope on it, increase the base damage and make it into the Amarr Sniper rifle. It is a beam weapon after all.

The Laser Rifle defiantly needs a heavy stat change, but even if you change the numbers what ROLE does it fill on the field? |

Ulysses you right to an extent, tech one crystals don't degrade. How ever you still have to reload every other weapon type but not energy weapons else youre changing ranges. The real issue i have is that they are the only weapons that damage the user on over heat. |

That's fine if you disagree, but something must be done about the overheating.

For a long time vehicles didn't have to worry about ammo so it's not unheard of, they of coarse changed that. I don't think the last opinion is the best one but it does follow lore. Also I read up on your views and I can agree with such a change |
